intended to capture a classic, beautiful split-shot. However, I noticed the lavender corals were beginning to show signs of bleaching. I decided to shift my focus, incorporating this environmental change to add a documentary narrative to the image. Shooting with a Micro Four Thirds system, dynamic range is often a constraint in high-contrast split-level photography. To compensate, I carefully calculated the angle of sunlight and the underwater terrain to find this specific composition.
