Behind the Scene

This is one of my earlier works. I had a specific vision for a split-shot at Elephant Trunk Rock, but the location posed a challenge: the water there lacked large marine life to serve as a foreground subject.

My solution was to ask my girlfriend (now my wife) to step in as the model. After several practice sessions in calm waters, we realized the key was for her to hover just beneath the surface. To handle the camera at the waterline, I engineered a DIY buoyancy device to stabilize the rig. We finally executed this shot during a surface interval between boat dives.
