Coffee: Costa Rica Canet "Mozart" Raisin Honey

Photo: Orca (Real-Time Composition Philosophy)

Mood: Fluidity & Precision

Costa Rica Canet Musician Series "Mozart" Raisin Honey

  • Process: Raisin Honey

  • Roast: Light-Medium

  • Notes: A sophisticated bouquet of rose honey and perfume lemon opens the cup. The palate is defined by a dense, creamy sweetness, reminiscent of candied strawberries. It finishes with the lingering elegance of floral fruit tea—harmonious and melodious.

The Story behind the Shot

The Art of Real-Time Composition When photographing fast-moving animals like Orcas, many advise "blind shooting"—swinging the camera and hoping for luck. I reject that approach. With over a decade of experience as an improvisational musician, I believe the highest energy comes from total presence, not chance. During this encounter in Cabo San Lucas, I used an external monitor to remain fully engaged with the composition from start to finish. There was no blind shooting, not even for a fraction of a second. I synchronized my vision, movement, and decision-making in real-time. Like a live performance, there is no rehearsal. This image is the result of a committed descent and complete sensory alignment—capturing a decisive, unrepeatable moment.

The Pairing Philosophy

A Melody for the Soul We paired this image with the "Mozart" bean because both are masterpieces of structure and fluidity. The "Raisin Honey" process requires precise fermentation to bring out the creamy, floral sweetness, just as capturing this Orca required precise, real-time composition to create a balanced frame. The flavor profile—notes of rose, strawberry, and flower tea—is not aggressive but deeply resonant. It mirrors the intelligence and grace of the Orca. This cup is a tribute to the virtuosos: the musician, the photographer, and the ocean’s greatest singer.
