Ethiopia Guji Uraga "Port Wine King" 3-Day Anaerobic Natural G1

  • Process: 3-Day Anaerobic Natural

  • Roast: Light-Medium

  • Notes: The dry aroma bursts with rich Port wine. On the palate, it explodes with intense tropical ripe fruits, featuring the sweet acidity of dried pineapple. A silky, wine-infused chocolate finish adds an elegant layer to the cup. The body is round and full, leaving a lingering, sophisticated aftertaste.

The Story behind the Shot

A Honeymoon in Disguise This shot was taken during our honeymoon in Baja California—which, truth be told, was my well-crafted excuse for a dedicated photography expedition. Fortunately, my wife shares my deep passion for the ocean. In the chaotic waters of Magdalena Bay, amidst a frenzied bait ball hunt, a moment of pure synchronicity occurred. A striped marlin surged forward as the clear protagonist, while my wife, documenting from the opposite side, appeared in the background like a professional model. It reminds me of classic wide-angle reef photography—perfectly balanced chaos. A rare stroke of luck, and a beautiful memory of our shared adventure.

The Pairing Philosophy

Intoxicated by the Deep We paired this image with the "Port Wine King" because the memory it holds is as rich and celebratory as a vintage port. The 3-Day Anaerobic process creates a wild, intense profile that mirrors the adrenaline of the bait ball hunt—unpredictable and powerful. Yet, the ripe tropical fruit and wine-chocolate finish offer a sweetness that speaks to the romance of the occasion. It is a full-bodied coffee for a full-hearted moment. A toast to the ocean, and a toast to love.
